Article: Ram CEO: Slate Vehicles Won't Be So Cheap Once Buyers Get Done Optioning Them Up

Pretty sure the roll bar serves three functions: 1) protects rear passengers in the event of a rollover, 2) houses the rear seat airbags, and 3) carries the third brake light for the Open Air. If no rear passengers, no need for the roll bar. The Cargo Kit topper can support itself without the...

    Slatelets - opinions?

My girlfriend collects two things: Starbucks location mugs and matchbooks. No charm collection. I only collect tools and don’t have much interest in collecting slatelets.

Will you have self control when choosing add-ons?

A folding soft top (with removable soft side panels) would be a great option for the Slate Open Air. I’m sure some enterprising 3rd party is thinking about offering this and can’t wait to scan a production Slate with the roll bar installed.

School me on level two charging

Helpful. My understanding is that 40a requires a 60a circuit where 48a requires 80a. I need to do some checking on what is available at the house. The Emporia Pro has a feature that regulates charge to available current…pretty cool if it works. Also an extra 8a at 240v is an extra 1.9kW...

Slate Tour Events - Locations / Dates

At this point, I think the assumption should be that it will either be rescheduled or canceled. What would be better than showing off Betas that everyone has already seen in vid after vid is showing off close-to-production units that have actual production interiors, production exterior panels...

Article: Ram CEO: Slate Vehicles Won't Be So Cheap Once Buyers Get Done Optioning Them Up

You nailed it. What’s unclear is how Slate will handle accessory installs…either in-house or through contracted 3rd party. I’m guessing the latter so that they can focus on producing the Blank Slate in two variations plus production of accessories.

Article: Ram CEO: Slate Vehicles Won't Be So Cheap Once Buyers Get Done Optioning Them Up

I think the vast majority of new cars purchased are those bought on spec by the dealer that are sitting on the lot. Dealers never buy base trim cars/trucks because that's not where the margin is for the auto maker. Because so few base trim models are purchased by dealers, so few base models are...
