Great news! I figured they would have like most other manufacturers. Also would not be hard to custom order one to fit if the side rails are like most trucks
I've seen some discussions about Toyota bringing back a small truck called the Stout. It's likely to happen in a 4 door version.
I've also seen discussions that Toyota may go Retro and produce a 2 door version as well. Even found this rendering.
What's your opinion? If Toyota produces a 2...
You won't but many will for the same money. Myself, I have a regular cab F-150 that's 13 years old and will last me another 25 if I take care of it. I'll never buy a new truck unless it's small and 2 doors which is why I want Slate to succeed. For the same money I'll buy a Slate as well
Manly because of charging cycles and residual value. MNC's are rated for about 2000 charges ( Bigger battery, fewer charges). I'll keep it for about 15 years and want to be able to sell it for "Something" rather than having to pay a possible fee for disposing of it. Fast charging also kills...
Haven't heard anything about either of these having negative effects but the 220 would be a better option.
IMO, $2-3k won't matter much. $7,500 will. They will have to compete with Maverick. If Maverick makes a 2 door I think Slate will be done for.
Interesting. Walmart also plans on installing charging stations at all of their locations by 2030. I wonder how they would train that workforce.
Walmart doesn't have a stellar reputation for their service centers but the Slate shouldn't need complicated maintenance. If it has anything to do...
If they put a better battery in it now it will have a 2nd and 3rd owner.
How about the the option of a better battery with no tax credit or the current battery with a tax credit
It's gonna have to be an already established service provider of some sort.
Since Bezos is involved I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being Amazon distribution centers which could have a few trained people on hand to support Slate. Maintenance shouldn't be too difficult on this thing and...
Don't forget that LFP'S can last up to 5 times longer, are more environmently friendly, are cheaper to make, chargeable to 100% (even recommended) and are Much safer and don't catch fire like MNC's.
They are heavier but the benefits far outweigh the excess weight. LFP's are the best and most durable EV battery currently made. That's a well accepted fact not just my opinion.
Not at all. I don't think anyone would be upset if someone gets theirs before they do. I'll be happy to get one in the first year considering they may have already sold out the first year.
Hopefully these numbers will improve when they finish stress testing it. I would at least like to tow my John Deere mower in for service but even a small trailer can exceed 1000 lbs
I think the weight and towing capacity might limit those capabilities. That's odd though because I use to tow an 18' boat with my 91 Toyota with all of 105 hp.
With 201 hp, why would the Slate be limited to towing 1000 lbs?
