This picture from April on the Gear Patrol site shows 3 speakers behind the 2 larger doors on the right side of the dash. Does this look like the space left is wide enough for a DIN radio? It would be awkward to reach that far for the radio, plus you couldn't access the USB ports. Hopefully they...
I'm not sure why there isn't just a converter, cost I assume. Lucid still has a separate 12 v battery. I asked Slate Auto, and there is a 12 v battery in the frunk. You can see it in the Munro video in the center of the firewall, but I think it is now located on the passenger side.
In the two links I posted, it lists a lot of the cars that Stellantis makes the electric motors. Besides the Chrysler Pacifica, Ram and Dodge, it lists Arbarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Vauxhall, etc. They are not all large trucks. JJE...
I noticed all the surface on the black slate up on the lift was wrinkly. I have never seen the wrap in person, and possibly when it is first installed, it looks like a tarp. I guess you heat it to work out the wrinkles? This could be what you are seeing as a soft top.
This is the best picture I...
I was reading about JJE and what they had done in the past. They built motors for Fisker, for one, possibly for Dodge. I also saw this on JJE's website from 2023 about a partnership with Stellantis Pro One. Stellantis has factories in Kokomo, IN, which is about 66 miles from Warsaw, IN...
Here is some information on Allison and JJE. Allison invested $42 million in JJE in 2021. JJE built a plant in Detroit, Allison has headquarters in Indianapolis...
I think I read that JJE has factories in USA as well as China. I’m assuming Slate will get theirs from the plant in MI to save on any import tariffs.
I wanted to know about the regenerative braking but that wasn’t mentioned. Does that only work on the rear wheels, using the motor, or was there...
I tried Henderson, Lexington and Louisville and usually got 4 results each. I checked mine and saw 5, and a nearby town and got 4 results. Some just had to deal with a L2 charger, some were for used, and some to buy or lease new cars. I probably won't be able to use any by the time Slate is...
Found this on the Slate Auto site. Put in your zip code to find out what rebates and Incentives are available for you right now. Might not be up to date, and definitely won't tell you what will be available in the future when Slate is introduced.

Just out of curiosity, what would one of these add to the range if you just carried one in the frunk in case of emergencies? Just a mile or two?

I just wonder what people will be willing to pay for an extra 90 or so mile range? Most of my driving is short - less than 60 mile round trips, but I would want the extra range if affordable. Are we talking $3000 or $8000 extra?
This video shows the back seat area of the SUV with two men doing an interview. Looks like plenty of room for two adults. They mention the windows and top hatch or sunroof can be opened or removed. It seems bigger than I expected, especially taller. There is another video with a 6' 10" man...
As someone new to EVs, my questions are, how do you set it to charge to only 80% and not to 100%? Is that a feature on the vehicle or an app? How do you precondition it, or warm up the batteries on a cold day before you drive? Is that an app feature or do you have to set it in the vehicle? If...
I was thinking about getting something like this if I eventually get a Slate. I'm sure they will have improved versions by the time Slate is available. It has backup image, GPS, music, etc.
