Have you made a $50 deposit poll

I didn't show my reservation number in case someone can use it, somehow. Just being paranoid. 😁

Your Photo / Question Requests? -- Seeing Slate Truck In Warsaw This Weekend

Where is the 12v battery, in the frunk? What is in the rectangular box area in the frunk, and can you get a better picture of whatever is on the side of it? (plugs, switch, data plate???)

    Factory Installed Options!

I don't know if this has been answered or not, apparently there are parts of this forum I had not seen until today. Anyhow, I sent a question to Slate Auto about options, like different seat covers, wheels, bumpers, if these would be factory installed or if we would have to install them...

    SUV vs Cargo

They wouldn't want a back seat. I just wondered if the roll bar was just for rear passenger protection, or if it is required to hold the top shell. I have never seen a pickup shell that requires a roll bar to support it. The roll bar would take up a lot of space.

    SUV vs Cargo

I wonder if they are going to offer different variations for consumers and for fleet sales? I can see this used as a van for deliveries of items to businesses. A florist could use this and would not need the roll cage but would want the top. I want the slant back top, but don't want the back...

Your Photo / Question Requests? -- Seeing Slate Truck In Warsaw This Weekend

I would like to see how the roll bar is attached to the floor, and how the rear seat is attached. Is there a rear seat foot area that is covered when it is just a truck, like a covered storage area?

New video in SUV mode w/ 4 adult passengers

This picture shows the floor of the bed. I think the smooth rectangle at the front is where the seat goes, and in front of that is possibly a cover over a recessed area. I think they wanted a flat floor when it is a truck, but removed as an SUV. When you remove that back wall of the truck cab...

    Events - Removed From Schedule

Yes I know, just trying to find out who used the "Slate" name first. Wiki says Slate Auto they started in 2022, called "Re:Car".

    Events - Removed From Schedule

Does anyone know when our Slate Auto was started? I first heard of it 4/24/2025. Slate Built started out as Out and Up Fitters on Facebook in February 2022 and changed their Facebook name to Slate Built in April 2024.

Ergonomics / Human Factors Engineering on the Slate Truck

One of the early videos from about April 24 shows the guy sitting in the back seat, and I think they say he is 6' 5". The Mobile Mama video shows her sitting in the back seat, but she's not that tall. Neither video shows them getting in or out, which I would guess was not easy. I rode in the...

Article: Ram CEO: Slate Vehicles Won't Be So Cheap Once Buyers Get Done Optioning Them Up

They make it sound like every one is made exactly the same, and they send you the options separately. I don't see how this will work for some of the options. If you order a different color interior, are you going to have to reupholster it yourself? If you order upgraded bumpers, are you going to...

Drive Unit / Motor supplier appears as Cascadia Motion (BorgWarner) in Slate prototype video

Did you notice in the specifications that it is water-cooled, and has limited slip? I kind of figured it would be air cooled, not water cooled. Of course this is just a prototype. On more expensive cars, do they use this while it is being driven to warm the batteries in cold weather? I...

    Outsourcing the frame build.

Our local Toyota plant in Southern IN (currently building Lexus I've been told) gets their frames shipped in. They have train tracks, but in the past, I also saw them being trucked in. I don't know where they are made. This is where they started making Tundras.
