Canāt wait to see the results of endurance testing of cold soaking at freezing temperatures. Also a report on the real world range of both batteries under these conditions.
Winter will be here soon enough; those tests can be conducted in their home state of Indiana in January instead of Las...
Getting into a Slate and wiring up my own audio system takes me back to my early 20's when I got my first Toyota truck. From that experience I learned how to fix almost anything. I replaced my carburetor, starter, water pump, radiator, belts, oil changes, exhaust, brakes, and a tuneup with...
New interview with Slateās head of design, Tisha Johnson, head of brand and marketing, Ben Whitla, and head of PR and communications, Jeff Jablansky.
Slate says itās on schedule to hit its first customer deliveries toward the end of 2026, with mass production expected in 2027.
Motor Trend...
Why run the contest to 1/1/27 - after Slate delivers the first truck in 4Q26? We should have all prices of the base truck and accessories confirmed late next year. Also, any price over $40k is senseless; this is being marketed as a radically simplified and affordable truck.
There is already...
Another Slate event, not sure if it was announced on their website:
Slate showed off their fastback model at the UP. summit at Bentonville Arkansas on September 28.
While nobody at this point knows for sure, I'm speculating that the Cargo version without seats will include the square back top with NO windows. There would be "blank plugs" where the windows would be located. I'm hoping that's not the case. I like the look of the windows with the...
Interestingly, the Slate truck with the faux green tint bears a resemblance to the new Scout Traveler color, Pacific Mist, if you can imagine it with a matte finish. Hmmm...
Not sure if my display is āoffā but the pictures of the blank Slate is coming up mint green on my iPhone.
More than likely, itās the lighting in the event room.
Some interesting pics from the event in DC, just posted on my feed in Facebook. I particularly like the USA flag Easter egg on the drivers door š. Appears the fit and finish seems to improve as the design matures.
So weāve been led to believe, you can wrap your Slate in a couple of hours. You can install the SUV kit in an afternoon in your garage.
How about a complete audio installation or upgrade in less than one hour? Makes sense?
I think the whole radio thing represents a huge opportunity for Slateās engineering team (or better yet, aftermarket) to really show off their ingenuity. Make the install process painless. Like designing Lego style plug and play speakers which slide and snap into place in the dash (no tools)...
AM radio is excluded in all Tesla's due to EMI from the electric drivetrain. Luckily, some AM stations are being broadcasted in the FM band for sports and weather in my region.
Perhaps, but consider that Slateās production capacity is severely limited, especially in year one. They will need to fully build out and utilize every square inch of the 1.4 million sf Warsaw facility to reach those targets.
