Fine with me. With kayaks on a roof rack, I can't go over 80 mph. I'll be much happier avoiding roads with high speed limits and fast drivers. I love the backroads.

Gonna throw in The Minutemen - Double Nickels on the Dime - a reference to being just fine with doing 55 on Interstate 10, and absolutely in response to Sammy;)

We have a plugin hybrid that can go 60 miles. The L1 is definitely not enough. If the range was more like 150 then it possibly might be enough. The L1 can basically charge about 23 miles overnight (around 2-3 miles per hour of charging).

We just installed an L2 last week and it is much better. It is doing about 20 miles per hour of charging.

We occasionally have to drive 50 miles two days in a row and the overnight charge isnt enough on L1. With 140 miles of range as long as you had a short driving day to recoup after 3 days then it could be fine.

the more range, the more days in a row you can exceed the L1 charger capacity.
The slate site's charging page claims 20-50 miles range added on an L1 charger overnight, What you are reporting seems on the low end of that.
On the low end, my daily drive is under 15 miles round trip. On the typical high end, every other week a 56 mile round trip. If I was using an L1 charger, I'd probably plug in when I get home, and unplug when I leave. Possibly program to delay charging so most charging happens off peak, and that more than overnight charging should end up being plenty, especially since any accumulated shortages would be made up on the days I don't drive at all.

Since I don't have a convenient outlet available, and will need electrical work anyway, I'll probably go with an L2 charger, even at a low current setting, it should easily be able to charge fully in a fraction of the off peak hours.

My Slate will be hauling boards, canoes, bikes and kayaks. Garden materials when cornered to get busy with chores instead of playing. So I’ll join you in the slow lane and the backroads. My Mach E trained me to dial it down if I wanted to extend range as well as enjoy getting the hell off the interstate whenever possible.
Minutemen are pretty tight sounding.

I've said for years now that what I want/need is a "60/60" EV. 60 real world miles at 60MPH. That would fit my use model quite nicely and I think it would be a fit for many others as well. The basic Slate more than meets that spec.

My wife has a mercedes gle 450e. It gets 60 miles on a charge. With an l2 charger she will never use gas. We switch to gas mode once a month or so to exercise the ice and use up some of the gas.

this is how I know 150 miles is fine for me. I drive even less than my wife.

The one thing I would like is a front bench seat so I can pick up my two kids from school.

Same for me….my round trip with the two littles is 34 miles daily. A bench would be perfect. But suv kit and open air would be fun 4 months per year.
