I find it rather interesting that on the reservation page on this forum I counted at least three from Ontario and Alberta Canada. Why accept reservations if you’re not going to fulfill them?

I've had family that retired to Arizona, and they had many Canadian retiree friends that lived there seasonally, also. I suppose it's plausible that if you're a Canadian with a residence in the U.S., you might still be able to acquire a Slate. So perhaps that's the route to be taken by some of the Canadians on the registry. I still maintain others outside the U.S. shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get a vehicle of their choice, though. Especially our appreciated neighbors up North, whom I personally hold in the highest regard.

I think I’ll get the same setup as soon as the four down is certified. A suv with no back seat to start with, 2 inch lift. I’ll pick it up in Indiana if the timing is right.

Just how hard would it be for someone in Canada to buy a Slate, and just take delivery south of the border? I'm sure they would have to pay some fees/taxes at the border and to register it, but as long as it isn't too excessive, I'd think they would do it.

In California, they would want you to pay full sales tax on the vehicle plus registration, title and fees.
And the tariffs will kill you too....
So in other words, states like CA is not a good idea to register a foreign purchased car.

Yes the Lightning can do V2H but the slate has a tiny, half the capacity battery compared to the Lightning.

Yeah...I think "a fridge" vs "a house", unless your tiny living is, well, teeny tiny?

The only issue that might arise with some owners is the 100A breakers you would have to add in order to get 19kW (80A) to the battery using L2 (240V AC) in the panel.

My current EV charger at home is a L2 48A (11kW) w/ 60A breakers - that was a tight squeeze and now maxed out on my 200A service.

If I wanted to install a 19kW (80A) charger, I'd have to upgrade the panel to 300A service which I am not willing to do....

I did all of this at my rental house in December. It was very expensive, but now I have 300A service (the electric co-op had to drop a new LINE from the road) and two huge panels and room for 2 EV chargers, elevator, future pool pump, future pool heater/chiller, etc. And, had them split my 2 HVAC units between the panels to balance the loads. I learned a lot. and yet I'm only tacking medium electrical work at home.
