Similar story here, saved over $1000 by doing the rotors and pads myself using OEM grade parts. The best thing about Slate is you probably will never worry about pads or rotors with regen braking. Maybe after 100K miles you might want to check your brakes.....LOL.
I recall there was a thread in back in July, "place your bets" on the actual blank slate starting price. I thought you might want to leverage those results into this poll.

The poll logic...
Agreed, the Slate is perfect for setting up trade shows, street fairs, exhibits, conventions, etc. Anywhere you can promote your business. Either the cargo version or base pickup would work.
Iām currently working on establishing a mobile detailing business, and a Slate (wrapped with my...
I agree with your assessment. That statement by Chris is āout of a different timeā when engineering used to push out designs and the shop floor guys would need to figure out how to put things together. I can still recall the words of the Assembly teams, āif you build it to the drawing, it wonāt...

Highlights:
Newsweek caught up with Slate CEO Chris Barman at the company's Warsaw, Indiana, manufacturing facility for an update on where the company stands today, and the next challenges it's facing...
I stopped by my local Tesla center for a tire rotation yesterday (believe it or not, due to low ground clearance not a DIY job!) and noticed this sign to entice customers:
Was advised this tax credit applies on inventory cars and they will deliver to you at no cost. The full credit is...
So, for many years of buying automobiles we all just accepted destination fees as the ācost of doing businessā at a dealership.
Letās not forget another one of my favorites- ādoc feesā which covers the dealership's costs and time spent on administrative tasks for the sale, like processing...
And if Slate needs to āsellā this idea to the town or county that prohibits direct sales, consider that folks traveling to Warsaw might be a boom to the local economy, including hotels, restaurants, and service industries. Some folks might want to make a small vacation when they arrive to make...
And Slate has yet to announce their delivery and fee schedule for regional centers or home delivery. Wouldnāt be surprised if itās $1500 -$2000 additional.
And be assured that Slate has the same disclaimers and disclosures in their deck.
Iāve worked in the corporate arena 44 years and often interacted with Legal and Contracts, before anything is published.
Ford Motors is announcing a new front-wheel-drive version of the '26 Maverick XL trim with the EcoBoost turbocharged engine; previously, this trim was not available.
This lower-contented version is looking to challenge the Slate's target price in the "mid 20's" ... by dropping the starting...
Absolutely! And I think the legal team weighs in and mediates responses from the Slate Agent team. The agents cannot commit to anything, since it might hold Slate accountable in the future.
I can envision a customer complaining..."but you said it could do this" or "yes, it has that feature"...
Slate currently doesn't offer leasing as a purchase option but may do so in the future.
It's disappointing and a bit of a surprise that Slate is promoting their brand for fleet vehicles targeting the service industry wherein they are typically financed with a leasing arrangement. Personally, I...
Nice try. The short answer is NO⦠a deposit is not a signed contract.
According to the IRS, a customer just needs to have a binding contract in place and at least one payment made before September 30 to obtain the tax credit.
No harm, no foul if Slate can snag off-the-shelf parts from other suppliers including OEMs. Happens all the time. Classic example, Tesla blatantly outfitted 2022 Model 3ās with a gear shift lever sourced from Mercedes.
The only known components that Slate will manufacture in house are the...
Good catch. I think the seats you see in the photos were early renditions, probably some they bought "off the shelf" for the mockups. Slate is designing, manufacturing, and assembling their own seats in house, so I would expect them to look more like what we've seen in the public displays and...
Thanks very much for sharing this with the community! Over the years I've been involved with many large-scale facility renovations, and this brought back some memories, some good, many not.
Folks, this is a big deal. You need to personally experience the pressure that Slate is in under...
All this talk of 100,000 reservations in the first few weeks of Slateās introductionā¦.
Now about 18 weeks later
thereās been virtually no updates on the latest tally.
Would anyone like to hazard a guess as what the reservation list looks like now??
One would expect Slate to publish that...
