^ I'm really hoping they do a Texas tour sometime soon. Between Dallas/Ft.Worth, San Antonio, and Austin, there's a huge truck and EV buyer base here.
Honestly the best Supplier for aftermarket power dimming mirrors would be Gentex, they're made in Zeeland, MI and provide either their generic...
I really want to know how the speakers are going to be mounted / what kind. It's hard to compete with speakers built into the doors for using that door cavity for bass. My truck has little 4'' speakers mounted under the dash and they're tinny little things.
As someone who dislikes the Jeep duckies... but loves the Subaru lifestyle badges, I'm torn on this one lol. I love the idea of printing your own though, clip and all! I'd love to use that little clip base and print a pen holder or something for the Slate with it.
Plugging in some numbers out of curiosity, it takes about 15 miles to go from one end of my town to the other, so a 30 mile round trip. They'd be getting about 5 round trips on a full charge.
I wouldn't be surprised if the MO at most fleet sites would be to plug the thing in whenever it's not...
If one of us on the forums ends up winning, we definitely need to get some questions together for them from some of our top forum posts. I did my submission!
Maybe the spare tire upgrade bumper will have mounting points for extra stuff. Could slap one of those wobbly CB radio antennas on there!
I know the Jeep guys have several antenna mounts that go on the hinges, spare tire carrier, etc. I wouldn't be against those, but a little shark fin or stuff...
I tried to talk the dog haver into at LEAST an extended cab as they have no need for a four door otherwise, but it was easier for them to get their 10lb dog in the back with a full door .
Our family car growing up was a Ford Probe, and all through highschool my friends and I all had...
I am on team two-door but I understand the need for a four door. I know more than one person where four doors were a dealbreaker, and it was mostly to have space for a dog.
Give me that last one as a two door or extended cab, like those monster 8ft bed trucks!
Great news! I wonder what the wiring harness inside will be like. I have a few random double din radios from various junkyard expeditions, I wouldn't be against slapping an old Ford F150 radio in there or something. Hopefully it's a simple MOLEX plug or something you can whip up an adapter for...
I'm still of the belief that fleet sales will be a big helper for Slate in the long run. A quick hop on google maps shows random fuel-sipper fleet cars that are just used for around the town deliveries. If they had a place to charge them (or even just a 120V wall charger to keep them topped...
One of the things I think would greatly benefit the Slate is a hot 12V bus bar line where owners can wire up their own accessories. If these are going to be fleet vehicles it would benefit them to let operators easily install dashcams, CB radios, etc. The Broncos have a set of AUX switches on...
I have also been ducked in a Geo. I just don't want any more useless plastic stuff! I can't hate on the initial Jeep people doing it but I see it on everything from Renegades and Gladiators to Compasses.
I can tell you the first mod I'll be doing is putting a power dimming rear view mirror in it if it doesn't have one. And this isn't really a "the slate should have one from the get-go" complaint, I was spoiled by my first car having one and I've put them in everything ever since. Hopefully the...
I've been interested in an EV, just the price point and my dislike of the modern crossover have held me back. Work just installed an army of NACS chargers at $0.05 kw/h, it would be cool to just charge the thing at work once a week and use it as a piddly little commuter and finally sell the...
As long as they're paying for lunch and a hotel room I'll go for whatever they're offering!
I'd rather see their factory than their HQ, even if it probably looks like this right now:
I drove one for a few years, while I didn't NEED the side mirror, I definitely wouldn't go back to another car without one. This car was how I found out UHaul requires TWO mirrors on a car to rent a trailer...
I am not gonna be overly optimistic, I've followed the rise and fall of a ton of automakers, from Canoo, Elio, and even some non EV ones (remember Carbon Motor's police cars in the mid 00s?).
I think under the right management they'll be able to meet their production goal for the actual truck...
Some jeeps are getting LED aftermarket options that have little heater defrost strips built in that help with icing. The other issue I have heard from some owners of the Cybertruck is directly below the headlights there's a shelf that holds snow / ice.
The slate appears to have that same...
