Going through the designer portion of the website again after seeing the white roof add-on and found there's now an option for AUX buttons over the HVAC panel:
Looks like a quick add-on to the website as it doesn't appear to even have a texture. Still a good idea if it features spade connectors...
I think that is a dig that started with all of the four door SUV-pickups in the early 00s that are all 5.5ft beds and shorter. People using them as family cars and not trucks. However the Slate is nothing BUT a little truck, so maybe they want a long bed.
A lot of two doors and compacts as first cars, I can see why the Slate gets so much love.
Was it the 2.2? There was recently a video of a person bringing an '82 back to life, it was quite an interesting watch.
If you wrap the bottom copper you can get a white wrapped top!
I'm in the same boat so I'll give you my answer. I grew up on coupes and small two-door pickups and have always favored the look of things like Broncos, Blazers, etc over their four door equivilants. I think two just looks better purely from an aesthetic standpoint, getting in and out of rear...
I wouldn't be surprised if the early Slates are delivered via a third party shipper. I used them once for a car I bought in Pennsylvania that was being shipped to Texas and they just had me meet them at the local Wal-mart and dropped off my car there. Would have been a dream delivery had they...
I went back to the builder and found there's auxiliary power toggles that are plug and play for adding accessories now available, another thing we've had a thread for.
'94 Thunderbird V8. Fast, smooth, a great luxury car. Grandfather was a freshly retired engineer at Ford's engine plant and told me it was the best car Ford had ever made. The power dimming rear-view mirror lives on in my LTD. It was a great car and I loved the looks, but it had the creakiest...
Yeah, I am on Android but I am just using Chrome on it. I started with a default slate and now I can't get it either. I think they may have broken something with the editor. I did my Slate design on the second day of the site being up and they've changed a bunch of things since.
My 2011 Fit has electric power steering and it is a pretty solid feeling setup. Tilt would be a major benefit, I would think from scratch they'd be designing that into it. Certain years of Lincoln Town Cars had a slider for power steering boost, so you could go from floaty 70s to somewhat...
I'm in the same boat, Slate says they'll have service facilities, I'd rather pick it up there. Tesla does a pre-delivery inspection and general walkaround and how-to* of the vehicle when you pick it up. Would be nice to at least see who's working on it and where if something does happen.
*I...
I was thinking back to one of my older cars, there were some companies that were making center consoles with speakers built in. It dawned on me now that I didn't see any cup holders when I was looking around at interior shots.
It really burns me that google axed Android Auto as a standalone app on the phone back in 2022 or so. I used to use it for road trips all the time in my LTD. It's not like it did anything a modern phone wouldn't do. It just put the interface you see on your radio on the phone instead. Would have...
201 horsepower... that's the highest of anything in my fleet by almost 40hp LOL
Top speed of 90 is good, but I have regularly seen people on the highways here hit that as a pack of cars so I'll be finding out how the limiter works very quickly.
It shows up on a Slate that I designed, but I think that color wrap option only shows up on the phone-site version. When I click on it on the desktop site it just says "custom wrap" and the edit button doesn't do anything on mine.
Honestly I'd rather be told nothin but bad news and then end up with a normal product than be sold a ton of hype and end up with something far under expectations.
I'd hate to use the Cybertruck as an example but I follow their forum and it sucks seeing their range extenders cancelled, people...
I just hope they are keeping an eye on the forums, or whoever wins that 'visit' is a real blabbermouth and keeps brining up what we need lol
Some of this stuff would make our lives a lot easier!
True, just give me some cable run points, a fairly easy way to get to them, and I'll be set. I need at some way to get to the roof for 12V power for Dashcam, etc.
