My fastest Carr was a ā74 LeMans with a Pontiac 400 in it and I donāt think it was as fast as they say the Slate will be off the blocks. Iām usually the fastest car on the highway around Seattle in my ā08 Prius so maybe I just donāt understand how nuts people must be in other cities. 0-60 in 8...
From what Iāve seen, youāll be leaning over to push the passenger side button to roll the electric windows up/down. It looks like the āupgradeā just adds a motor and button where the crank was. I havenāt heard anything about the passenger side being controlled on the driver side. Could be wrong...
Folks could have gotten a Studebaker EV in 1902:
Studebaker hated gasoline autos because they were āsmelly and noisy,ā and resisted going with petrol until the market settled on it. This one could go 80 miles on a charge. Imagine where weād be now if this idea won out.
Looks like the Slate has slots where you can fit in boards to allow sheets of plywood/drywall to lay flat above the wheel wells. Photo credit @jwocky
The wheel wells are tall enough that youāll be going over the sides after a half dozen or so sheets so strap tie downs would be appreciated...
The clamps were there to keep people from closing the hood onto other peopleās fingers.
Doesnāt answer the question about struts vs prop bar, and I didnāt actually think to ask.
Thereās a thread in here with a professor explaining EV charging that makes me happy to level 1 charge. Basically, the slower, the better and if 20-80% is good, 40-60% is even better. Number of times on the charger is less important than keeping it in the middle.
Iāll only be driving 20 miles a...
I know itās not a knob, but will the optional steering wheel controls do volume?
Edit: Iām sorry I havenāt done the research, but I figured there would be head units out there that this can communicate with.
Whatās next?
I figured my 2008 Prius would be the last car Iād ever buy, and my ā74 GMC K1500 could keep going forever so long as our future turns into a Mad Max scenario. But the Slate got my attention because realistically, an EV without all the gizmos and safety mandated add-ons will get me...
To me that just looks like perspective. First picture has good vanishing point on the left but I didnāt get the straightedge out to measure proportions.
