Ram CEO:
“Slate Vehicles Won't Be So Cheap Once Buyers Get Done Optioning Them Up“
Let’s substitute the word “Slate” with “RAM”. Or any other vehicle for that matter. The logic still applies.
Folks, this is a profound statement. Definitely CEO material.

More manufacturing jobs in Indiana!
As you heard last month, the proposed number of employees is approximately 1,700 new jobs created by the presence of Slate in that building. Since that time, there has been a decision by Slate to bring in-house the...
No surprises here; the vote was approved.
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Slate Auto will get personal and real estate tax abatements after the Kosciusko County Council approved them by a 5-1-1 vote Thursday night, June 12.
Councilman Dave Wolkins voted against the tax abatements and Councilwoman Kathy...
I’m now rethinking my desire to wrap the Slate. It looks (and sounds) like the original finish has a low gloss matte texture. Adds a bit of ruggedness to the overall look. And no fingerprints!
With summer just around the corner, was thinking about the possibilities of using the Slate for tailgating parties.
This being my first pickup truck I never considered this before. I think Slate should offer a custom canopy option; I think it will sell like hotcakes.

Well I have to admire RAMs tagline in the CEO’s banner
“Nothing Stops Ram”
How true! December 2024-
“Stellantis is recalling more than 315,000 of its Ram pickup trucks due to a potentially deadly safety issue with the braking system, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration...
Did you say carport? If that outlet is exposed to the elements I would also install a watertight electrical enclosure. I would also add a lockbox (or turn the breaker off when not in use) so that your neighbors don’t take advantage. Just saying.
That horn has the masculinity of the VW bug 😳. And unfortunately it sounds a bit cheap. Production versions may have better materials, as teased by several reviewers.

GM has just announced that their next generation Bolt will start at $30k and the Equinox at $41k. I understand that these models don’t compete with the utility and versatility of the Slate truck but I think it’s...
I have a crazy idea….
Since this is one of the most active and lively discussion groups out there, what if event attendees wear a name tag with our forum display name? I think it would be interesting to meet fellow members in person. This is optional, of course. Just a thought. And...
Well … we are almost halfway through June and still no info on these events. Not leaving us much time to plan a visit. I hope we’re not further disappointed with delays or cancellations.
Excellent observation on the phone locking out when idle. Mine seems to do that in 15 seconds (I know it can be adjusted). I hope the software techs at Slate get it right and have an option not to let your phone lock whenever the app is running. I have a security camera app and I set it to...
Interesting that this thread laid dormant for over a month. Now to share my opinion. We can debate all day long about ambiguous selling prices after incentives and pseudo comparisons to similar ICE vehicles from the late 80s etc until the cows come home.
My original point was that if Tesla...
Perhaps, but I thought the appeal of this vehicle is DIY. Slate University will guide us step by step on wrapping.
The point I am making is to keep it out of collision shops in the event of a mishap.
I noted this as well. As I indicated it may have been an earlier prototype and Slate just slapped on generic tail lights from the parts bin. In other footage it definitely looks like platform, dash, and front end is legit.
Well said. Slate’s presence is already being felt. They have not sold a single unit but have already exerted downward pressure on pricing from several auto makers (eg Nissan, Ford, Tesla). Also seeing lower contented versions of Tesla Models with lower sticker prices. Keep it coming...
