That horn has the masculinity of the VW bug 😳. And unfortunately it sounds a bit cheap. Production versions may have better materials, as teased by several reviewers.

A) me seeing it wrong or
B) a preproduction unit for fitment/test, etc.

It looks like there are layer lines around the perimeter of the knob, as the person rotates it.

Replacing the wimpy "Meep-Meep" horn should turn out to be a pretty easy DIY project.

I put a FIAMM Low Note Horn ("Freeway Blaster", maybe?) on my motorcycle and boy did it make a difference!

Hella makes a universal pair (high tone + low tone) of disc horns that probably would be a suitable upgrade.

The potential snag with upgrading horns is that the new horn may draw more power from the circuit and thusly require wiring in a relay.

Hey, it has the same horn my truck has! I kept its very high pitched eeeeeeep horn since it's part of the trucks charm, but my Fit had a similar horn and I swapped it with a much deeper, normal, Accord horn immediately.

I’m now rethinking my desire to wrap the Slate. It looks (and sounds) like the original finish has a low gloss matte texture. Adds a bit of ruggedness to the overall look. And no fingerprints!

You would be surprised, but International puts these kinds of horns on their trucks (known as the city horn)
