I really thought people would be posting here by now, I thought there were at least a couple of people who said they had appointments today. Would like to hear about parking, crowds, and what all they have set up to see.

Quiet on Reddit too, although there is one post. Not much detail. Short rides and aggressive security.

Yes, Just finished scrolling through on reddit. So that confirms they do still have those walls up. Didn't see a whole lot of people in the photo, but then it's a lot bigger space than something like the auto shop where they had the Huntington Beach event.

Yeah that's my post lol. The space is pretty big, they had 4 trucks on display. 2 of them being the SUV.

Demo Ride today

Who also went to the Demo Ride today in L.A?

Really wish we could have driven it, but it was nice to get to ride in one, even if it's just around the block. They also didn't have the SUV available, they said they might have it later.

All in all, I'm happy with how it felt. Very roomy inside and felt quick enough and looked great. My concerns about wind noise and rattles were put to rest. Truck feels solid and can't wait for mine.

I had a great experience at the test ride today. The drivers were knowledgeable and not shy about showing what 0-60 felt like. All rides were in pickups, no SUVs.

Felt roomier and more solid than I expected. I’m 6’4” and had plenty of room.

Yeah, you have to park in the street but there's plenty. I parked across the street and just jaywalked over.

I had a 3:00 appointment and spent about an hour and a half poking around the place. I was kind of disappointed that there weren’t more people around, but got lots of attention from the Slate crew. Found parking pretty easily, but it might be a problem on the weekend if it gets busier.
I didn’t learn a whole lot of new stuff, but the ride along was fun and reassuring. They had the dashboard uncovered, so I got to poke around in the compartments a little bit during the ride around the block.

Here’s some tidbits I took away after checking off my list of questions:
-The tailgate will definitely have a midway position for long loads and a 600lb rating when flat.
-The standard floor is carpeted. I was hoping for something plastic-ish, so I’ll need mats.
-I couldn’t see a difference between the satin and matte wrap finishes, but I don’t want the gloss.
-The backup camera view is pretty small, but should be adequate.
-Heard that some of the cargo package info that was reported last week wasn’t entirely accurate.
-After adjusting my seat for comfortable leg room, there was 12” left over behind it.
-Took some measurements of the T-rail bolt spacing because I have some projects planned.
-My dachshund hood ornament prototype needs to be smaller and shinier.
