I would love a cargo truck with side folding seat like the Honda element.

I could get on board with that. Personally I am hoping they have some sort of divider that can be put in behind the seats for those of us that will be making it into more of a cargo van. Even thick webbing behind the seats would be enough for me.

I just asked that, see SUV vs Cargo thread.
i’m hoping for the lower panel to remaining place (but maybe removable) and replace the window area with something maybe web style.

Just found this old thread. Bingo! When I first read about Slate my mind flashed onto my former Element. I was one of the first to buy one, loved it and man was it versatile. Not AWD though and squirrely as hell in snow and I also needed at the time to tow trailers. So traded for Ridgeline. Despite the 4 cyl, the Element wasn’t particularly thrifty on gas. But a wonderful toy and cargo hauler which is how I see the Slate with some over cab racking. Yeah, been dreaming about an EV version Element for many years. Slate seems pretty close!

That's funny. I also am a former Element owner. I was hoping to make a motorcycle hauler out of it but it was way too much work to get a dirt bike in and out. Ultimately, I got rid of it and got a 2006 Ford Ranger Reg Cab, Manual Transmission for my dirt bike hauler. Here is a photo with a dirt bike in it.

Ah yes …you had the durable plastic panels as did I. Despite some hard use, when I traded the Element in it looked great after a little detail work. That’s why the molded Slate panels suit me just fine.
