Found this and thought I would share.

Obviously Slate's reported mileage is based on a completely blank truck design and as you add extras, cargo and people your mileage will be. significantly affected.

This article suggest a 15% loss in mileage for every 1,000 pounds or so (I think).

Total expected mileage vs total weight should definitely be taken in context as you add extras to your trucks design.

If you look at Ford's F150 Lightning tests on YouTube, you will find that weight alone in the cab and bed will not affect range as much.

Various YT posters will show that putting 1000 lbs of cargo in the bed does not affect range much.

However, put a load that rides higher than the cab height or pull a trailer of any weight that affects aerodynamics will put a range hit.

When I had the '22 Lightning, 4 adults plus 500lbs cargo (concrete bags) does not affect range very much. It does drive a bit sluggish due to the extra 1000lbs of weight on the suspension.

Add winter to the mix and you have a huge range hit!.
