I wonder if they will have options to make the lenses (corner lights , tail lights turn signals ) clear or buy the clear ones . I’ll puts some pics of what I mean in here . I think clear lenses with whatever color is required in your state behind them would be sweet .

Probably wouldn't bee too hard, if the LED bulbs inside are replaceable. Just need someone to make clear lenses and swap out the bulb and that'd be it! Altezza taillights in the back and clear markers on the sides! Based on pics we've seen of the rear it looks like the LEDs are actual bulbs and not whole light assemblies, at least for the rear.

I know that's a fairly popular thing in the Euro/JDM crowds so I'd bet we'd get 'em soon from the aftermarket.

Would love to see clear / white lenses too. Looks great on Slate Gray.

Taillights likely can't be white or you would have to have a red bulb inside, which I believe is not a thing, I only know of amber, at least as far as non-leds go. but side markers are a super common swap on vehicles. I would expect slate would let other companies make them, not a first party accessory

You can get red LED bulbs, but even then they recommend using them in red lensed housings. I know the GM boys still run em in clear lenses:

It still annoys me that Slate is going for a single bulb rear taillight. Would have loved separate bulbs for top and bottom halves so one could be a red brake light and the other an amber turn signal, SMH.

Simple is the name of the game. 1 rear bulb, 1 front bulbs. Personally I love that

Sounds like a great aftermarket parts opportunity! Just think, you could be the new J.C. Whitney of our time.

Using the trailer light output harness, this is totally possible and a "solved" problem on other vehicles. Going from combined to separate turn/brake lights is solved with a simple relay module.

Is a relay really necessary? And why use the trailer light wiring? Why not just do a quick splice in the appropriate wiring for the existing socket? So long as lamp colors meet regulations, there's loads of profit waiting!

When you have a bulb that combines turn a s signal into one, only one wire is needed for signal, there is no distinction between the two, to make the turn and stop split, you have to send a seperate signal from the car, which the Slate does not have. The trailer plug does have this. And the reason you would want a relay box is because if you don't, you would be double loading the trailer lights if hooked up to power the truck and the trailer. Also, you would certainly cause the vehicle to think the lights are out (if the Slate would care). You can use readily available modules that are relays and very simple processors that when connected to both tail lights and optionally the 3rd brake light (for reliability) takes the single signal inputs to each tail light and compare it to the either side (and optionally the 3rd brake light) and is able to determine if the brakes are being used or the turn signal. The downside to these is they tend to have a small delay, or incorrectly show brake lights intermittently.

Okay, now I'm curious to hear how you know the Slate's wiring! How do you know this isn't some sort of dual-filament kind of bulb?

I'm not going to hunt for it at the moment, but it should be easy, find a video where the turn signal and brake lights are both on, if one light stays on steady, while the other brightens and dims, that would be the "dual filament" (Actually LEDs most likely) if one is on steady and the other blinks, it's single element, as being assumed in this discussion.

Dual filament bulb would be for brake/turn on one line, and running light on a second line, still one bulb. A single bulb, with a single colored tailight housing, means it’s only one color, which means turn and brake signals are combined. Has nothing to do with knowing the wiring, just have to look at the light and you can see it’s a combined unit.
