Great news! I wonder what the wiring harness inside will be like. I have a few random double din radios from various junkyard expeditions, I wouldn't be against slapping an old Ford F150 radio in there or something. Hopefully it's a simple MOLEX plug or something you can whip up an adapter for power and stuff.

Don't you still need something like a shark fin antenna?
im guessing there will be a video on the “Slate University” that they say is coming

couple of possible options is a stick on window antenna or a hole here option

Maybe the spare tire upgrade bumper will have mounting points for extra stuff. Could slap one of those wobbly CB radio antennas on there!

I know the Jeep guys have several antenna mounts that go on the hinges, spare tire carrier, etc. I wouldn't be against those, but a little shark fin or stuff like mod 00s cars had with the little 6'' rubber one I wouldn't be against. Even a hole in the top of one of the fenders for mounting an old whip style would be good.

Does this mean I can install a Carplay unit (hard wired into dash) and have it plugged directly into speakers? So it works like a normal car?

Yes, not sure what wiring will already be installed but yes, it will take a carplay double din radio according to the interview

I'm going with a Bluetooth capable amp and hardwired speakers and will use my phone.

Since the body panels are all plastic, is there a reason an antenna needs to be external? Maybe something in the frunk or under a bed rail would work.

Composite body panels will allow an antenna to be installed underneath the panels. No need for holes and external mounting.

This thing is going to be awesome!
