A big part of this SLATE thing for my family and I is voting with our wallets. First consideration in most purchases is QUALITY, secondary is Made in the USA. To the point of purchasing "things" that we need that are decades old for our household. Many of these things reside in thrift stores or are NOS / New Old Stock, Made in the USA quality things). We will go without if the thing is out of our price range. Do not settle folks, demand quality in all things.

CocoMats are just one example of many. The new iterations are even better than the ones we had in Porsches and BMWs of the 60s and 70s. An example where quality has improved over time, costs be damned. We saved up for them in our '06 Tacoma and several Frontiers. Worth the wait. Again, an example of a quality USA made product that is truly world class. Anticipate the Slate to be the same from many indications.

Seeing a SLATE yesterday in Huntington Beach indicated a focus on providing a QUALITY, Made in the USA truck, at a reasonable price point. Simple as that.

No. Need plain old rubber so I can hose off the ever-present sand/gravel/salt mix in Michigan.
Rubber horse stall liner from Tractor Supply works good too.

I'd been looking at getting a horse stall mat for a bed liner, frustrated by the fact that to get one wide enough to notch for the wheel wells I'd have to buy something even larger, like 5x8 or 5x10.

Reusing the excess for a floor mat or frunk liner is a great idea!

Good old 'merican innovation. Have used sheet rubber for this purpose too, built my own when the offshored "fitted" products were either paper thin or ill fitting.

I think OP's mats are very cool. They remind me (in a good way) of things my grandparents had for floor mats and even on a car seat.

My use case is very muddy, so I'm probably going to go with something like a Husky liner for my floor mat, or maybe even the one Slate offers if we get details of origin. Weathertech is OK, but I've had better fit with Husky, and Huskys are softer. Both of those are made in the USA (Illinois and Georgia). The downside is they are not pretty! The Cocomats are a work of art.
