As someone who tends to end up running late for things, I have learned that hurried driving rarely moves the arrival estimate by a meaningful amount. There's very little room for improvement, especially compared to saving time at some part of your schedule before you're on the road.

Yeah, I'd better write that down...
Anyone can test that by using GPS and looking at when you get to the destination relative to the initial estimate. Have to repeat a few times, because traffic light timing can randomly throw it off by a couple of minutes. But drive the speed limit, you get there right about when the GPS said, go 10 over, you still get there about when the GPS said, unless it's a long straight interstate drive with no lights and little traffic, where you can make up a few minutes. If it's surface streets with traffic lights going faster just means waiting longer at red lights.

While the thought of being limited to 90mph is somewhat disturbing, I have other means of satisfying that urge.

So it will be non problem for me.

I find trying to beat the "miles remaining" estimate much more satisfying! 60 seconds saved means I'd be keeping up with that car I can just make out car a ways up the road, not worth that much. Conversely, if the odometer estimates 150 miles left in the tank, and I get 170 through patient, attentive, skillful driving, that's meaningful cash in my pocket! Add the range estimate and the odometer and you can keep tabs on whether you're exceeding or failing the target.

Sorry about your hikes and delivery windows. I've observed the same disparity regarding driving efficiency. When my wife drives I can see that her left foot is on either the floor or dead pedal (she only brakes with her right foot), but I swear she must be pushing down the gas and dragging the brakes at the same time to achieve the abysmal efficiency numbers she gets. She's very smart, self-controlled, and strong-willed, so it's not a limitation of ability to apply that knowledge, it's just a choice she'd have to make for herself.
Are you sure your name isn't Kramer?
