That was one of the questions I asked Slate. I asked about the dynamic roof load. I don't think they have the actual answer yet. I do hope they put it on the specs page eventually.Video by Slate Auto. I wonder how much weight the SUV kit top can handle.

I thought that dynamic roof load was one of the factors to consider when adding after market crossbars. They have their own load capacity, but you can never exceed what the roof can carry. That one has a Roof Rack.
I would expect the rack's weight-holding capacity to be specified. Not sure about the roof itself, though.
If you have a 9’ kayak it should fit inside the SUV square back variant according to the CEOI thought that dynamic roof load was one of the factors to consider when adding after market crossbars. They have their own load capacity, but you can never exceed what the roof can carry.
Anyway, from what I heard at one of the in person events, they don't have that information yet.
I do want factory installed rails, but depending on how wide the roof is, I will probably want aftermarket crossbars. Malone has a setup that looks good for carrying kayaks. Thule had a really nice system, but it looks to be way to heavy if you want to put more than one kayak on the roof.
Anyway, just daydreaming. The water's too cold for the time being, for me anyway![]()

Nothing optional is factory installed, and the roof rack kit isn't just rails, the crossbars are part of it.I thought that dynamic roof load was one of the factors to consider when adding after market crossbars. They have their own load capacity, but you can never exceed what the roof can carry.

Good point. I was thinking that they will install the SUV kit before delivery (for a fee) and somehow had the idea that they'd install the roof rack too. I would want that professionally done.Nothing optional is factory installed, and the roof rack kit isn't just rails, the crossbars are part of it.
