New Apartment Complex construction underway in Warsaw for future Slate employees!

From ABC57 news: “The electric truck company, Slate Auto, is coming to Kosciusko County, just outside Warsaw, and promising more than 2,000 full-time jobs. But those workers need somewhere to live. With that in mind, Warsaw city leaders broke ground Tuesday on the new housing project. The $21 million apartment complex apartment building is set to be complete by this time next year.”

That happened here. Two new plants were announced and seemingly overnight every plot of farmland that had been sitting on the market for years were all sold. Apartments going up all over the place!

Many employees will probably have their own Slate. They need to show how an apartment could possibly handle a multitude of spots for EV charging. It could be a good proof of concept for other future developments to follow.

This presents an interesting opportunity for reservation holders. Slate can offer free charging credits for lease holders of 1 or 2 years. I’m sure they can negotiate a contract with the property owners to keep occupancy rates high. If this project proves successful, more units should be constructed. The 85 units should fill up quickly, considering 2000 new jobs being created over the next year.

Definitely a great opportunity to incorporate EV charging at a multi unit building. It could be the model for future housing projects AND encouragement for Slate sales (or those other EVs too, I guess).
