Good for everyone to check out again even if they did before, now that the federal incentives are gone.
Looks like in my state there is:
  • a vehicle retirement incentive, $1350 if you've failed smog test, $1500 if you are under 225% of the poverty level, and $2k if both.
  • A local $500 if you purchase from a local dealer, so Slate doesn't count.
  • A state Clean cars 4 all, if you have a 2009 or earlier vehicle, and less than 300% of the poverty level, 10-12k depending on location, or with no car to scrap up to $7500 towards the car. Also there is up to $2k towards a charging station or a card for public charging. (authorized dealership is mentioned, likely Slate won't qualify)
  • The local power company offers $1k or $4k towards used EVs, 4k is with income qualification.
  • Power company pays towards a meter upgrade if needed with income qualification.
  • Looks like there is still a federal tax credit on chargers, but figuring out if you qualify looks impossible because the census site that showed eligible areas has been defunded.
On the federal incentives, I've been seeing articles claiming Chevrolet is continuing to offer them to customers who lease through the end of the year, the only way I can think that can possibly work is Chevy or some on paper entity has "already" bought them, with a sale date in September and is passing the incentive to customers.
