They didn't say 4-pin was included. I have sent them a query asking about the 4-pin but haven't heard back yet. Their normal promptness seems to have disappeared for a bit.

I got a response back about the 4-pin... Vague, but a response. After getting the response below I asked another way to confirm. "Kathryn G" made it clear that they haven't figure out yet if it will be part of the receiver package or a separate charge.

I have a 2" hitch receiver. (took it off my 2006 F-150 XLT when I traded it in for my Nissan), I wonder what size the hitch is for the Slate?

2 inch receiver is what is shown, only $50, but no details on electrical.

Edit: actually it's $99, I thought it was 50, not sure if it changed.

The part that I have is what you slide into the receiver that holds the ball (I think I have a 2 3/8" ball and a 1 7/8" ball)

Very unlikely the hitch that was mounted on your F150 frame would fit. The receiver bar that slides into the receiver with the ball would. I also doubt the light rig is coming with hitch at only $50.

Ok, so I don't have the actual hitch (it was a factory installed one), I have the thing that slides into the receiver that holds the hitch ball.

Either you've got some big balls (OK, one kind of small and one REALLY BIG) or you've got a common 2 3/8" shank length on what's probably a 2" diameter ball.

The standard sizes are 1 7/8" (very small, light duty trailers - 4x8, jet ski, log splitter, etc), then 2" is by far the most common size (most 2000 - 7500 lbs trailers - if you can pick with your utility trailer or jet ski or whatever, get 2" so you don't have to swap as often), and then 2 5/16" is used for large, heavy trailers like RVs and dump trailers that often require a weight distributing hitch.

I'm unaware of any standard designs that use a 2 3/8" ball (goosenecks are 3"), but 2 3/8" is a common length for the threaded part that goes through the stinger under the ball. If you're using a forged stinger or going through a bumper mount, you need a little more thread engagement to get the lock washer and nut to fit on all the way.

Personally, I find it way easier to have separate stingers for 1 7/8" and 2", handling those big nuts is a challenge.

Just measured it. Its the 1 7/8" ball (it has a 2000lb rating, and I used it with my 5' x 9' utility trailer that has a 2000 pound capacity). My other bigger ball is sitting somewhere around my house (likely 2").

I got another response back from the 4-pin connection question...

The 2-inch receiver hitch is expected to include the trailer wiring, including the 4-pin connector, so it should not be a separate charge.

We'll share additional details as we get closer to production, but that's the current plan.

I'm just glad it's a 2" receiver. The whole 1-1/4" thing just makes me want to scream.

I received a response to a similar question and the answer I got made me think the hitch receiver is a separate part, but the wiring is standard. Please see below.

From slate CS:
Apologies for the delayed response — we appreciate your patience!

Great question. Yes, the Slate will come with light connectors included, so you'll be all set on the wiring front when towing.

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions!
