I get it. It use to be really hard a few years ago. We have family that runs a shop. It is hard with parts on a car. But from what I think will happen is most parts will come off and can be put on a table and that helps so much. All your cuts will be behind the panel. Also new wrap rolls are way more forgiving and flexible. It can self heal with heat and let air out on its own. But just my thoughts. I can be wrongI’m still concerned how the installation of wraps will be. I know they are focusing on DIY, but wrapping a whole vehicle is not easy. For this to be the only way to change the color, I hope they found a way to make it easy for the average consumer
what about ease of removing the wrap? From my understanding wraps last 3 years. I’ve seen some sun damaged wraps that looked awful to remove.I get it. It use to be really hard a few years ago. Yeah that’s also a good point. Surprisingly the wraps are the only accessory that they gave pricing for. The website says starting at $500what about easy of removing the wrap? From my understanding wraps last 3 years. I’ve seen some sun damaged wraps that looked awful to remove.
Hopefully the wrap kits will be $300-400 at most. Bc this will become a maintenance cost that people are not thinking about.
Yes! Wraps are good longer now with the new UV additives. Like 7 year for good stuff And with a release spray and heat gun the new stuff comes off easier. The bad removals come from older wraps that were done 5 years ago with old tech and have not been taken care of.what about easy of removing the wrap? From my understanding wraps last 3 years. 7 years sounds fantastic it makes more sense with that time frame. I’ve wrapped small stuff and it’s easy. So i am inYes! Wraps are good longer now with the new UV additives. Also there another option is pant you can do. They are pretty much ready ready for a shop. If you take the parts all off and take it to a shop to paint it will be pretty cheap too.
This is me just guessing and trying to help. You have all real concerns. Until we get parts to play with we will not know.
I dont imagine that installing the wrap will be difficult, they are supposed to supply the tools, and instructions to make it easy.I’m still concerned how the installation of wraps will be. the video with Rich Rebuilds strongly implied that they are planning on it being under the frunk...

I thought it was funny, and that is exactly what i would have been looking for given the chance... I just wanted to exand on it a little, I had just watched the video so it was top of mind for me.The image I posted was an attempt at humor.
FWIW, yesterday I mentioned AWD two places in my post in that video's thread, including what Eric Kyper said regarding Slate's portfolio of vehicles.
For lots of reasons I'd put the chances of a DIY Retrofit AWD Kit at 1% tops. Let's not hijack this thread to discuss that topic. I started a thread for discussing that.
