Lots. Just....lots.
This is the kind of thing I'll be doing. Think big folks, thats the point. Bigger even. But this is a good start. Car alarm/security, internet interface; add pop out monitors, amps, & speakers and its your mobile media server, entertainment console, system remote access, and anything else you want it to do. Add a proper GPU and make gamers cry. More flexibility than a Tesla with no subscriptions or gate keeping and more power if you spec it right.

If you want to go crazy, could use this to build self driving as well. Just depends on if Slate has electrical control of steering

I think I would like to do something like that as well. Not going to go crazy with self driving, but doing a full set of cameras, showing side views on display when turn signal is on, possibly detecting distances, both for alerts and parking all sound doable, and they are things that are done with multiple newer vehicles, from multiple manufacturers. Recording I think is mainly done just with tesla, but no reason not to record.

I really think self driving and depending on a Pi for it might be risky, It's not intended for safety functions, a slowdown at a critical time could be dangerous, and just using one might open you up to liability even if the other driver caused the crash.
