I noticed that when you add the Fender Flares in the Maker section, it appears that the distance between the driver and passenger wheels widen a bit and I asked Slate if this was intentional and if selecting that option would for some reason widen the stance of the Slate. This is the response I got.

Great question! I know it does appear to widen the wheel base a slight bit, but this actually is not the case! On the Slate Maker, it just appears that way from the way it renders the image, but the wheel base does stay the same length.

She didn’t actually answer your question. You asked about track width, her answer refers to wheelbase.
Or she’s using the wrong terminology and I’m reading it too literally.

If fender flares attach to fenders why would the wheels change width?

i realize some vehicles (jeeps) you can add spacers. i did on wife’s kubota tractor, but no flares.
