I’ve been daydreaming about what a wide body kit or some bigger off-road fenders could do for the Slate truck—and not just for looks. If the fenders are bolt-on (which I really hope they are), swapping in a new set would be one of the cleanest ways to totally change the stance and capability of the truck without cutting or fabricating anything major. Unbolt the stock, rebolt a set of wider trail-ready fenders? Yes, please.

Wider fenders = more tire clearance = more aggressive fitment and real off-road function. You could pair that with bigger wheels, spacers, or even long-travel suspension down the line—and not have to worry about rubbing or tearing up the factory bodywork.

What makes this even more exciting? If we match the Slate paint code or go the wrap route, changing fenders gets really simple. Wrap the new set on a bench, pop ’em on, done. No downtime, no paint shop drama. And when you want to swap back? Just reverse the bolts.

This is the kind of modular upgrade path I love—clean, reversible, and packed with potential. Let’s hope Slate made it easy to tinker.
