An article about recent speculation that there will be a Bronco Pickup included this blurb:

Update: In a statement provided to Jalopnik, Ford representative Mike Levine said: "We are not going to comment on future product speculation, much of which is inaccurate. What we can say is Ford is focused on delivering a massive product renewal that will refresh 80% of our North American portfolio by volume by 2029. This includes the all-new Ford Fathom midsize pickup on the new Universal Electric Vehicle platform, alongside the next-generation F-150 and F-Series Super Duty."

That's a lot of product renewal!

Probably a solid portion of that would be switching to the platform they are starting with the fathom?
Could be.

That would be Ford making a big bet on EV adoption! 😯

Is that platform specifically an EV platform? even if so, Europe is over 25% in EV sales, Denmark over 80%. The world is going EV without without the US. The options WERE lead, follow, or get left behind. Most US manufacturers already seem to have decided not to lead, it remains to be seen which remaining option they take.

The American car companies though haven't competed on the world market with an American market automobiles for the past 75 years.

Ranger is sold in Europe and outsells Toyota Hi-Lux in Australia.

Those are in-market vehicles. The global Ranger chassis T5, and now T6, were imported to the US market.

EU has surpassed they're fossil fuel electricity production with alternative energy. They just need to utilize it more. Looks like they're going in that direction.
And don't leave China out of that equation.

From FoMoCo corporate site:

(March 2025)

"Puma Gen-E and E-Tourneo Courier enhance Ford’s electric passenger vehicle lineup in Europe, joining the Ford Explorer, Capri, and Mustang Mach-E in European showrooms. In the commercial vehicle segment, E-Transit Courier completes the offering from Ford Pro which includes E-Transit, E-Transit Custom and E-Tourneo Custom."

I count eight (8) EV in Ford's current European portfolio between retail and commercial offerings. Ford's success in the US has never been hinged on its European lineup regardless of how far back in history one goes.
