Is that platform specifically an EV platform? even if so, Europe is over 25% in EV sales, Denmark over 80%. The world is going EV without without the US. The options WERE lead, follow, or get left behind. Most US manufacturers already seem to have decided not to lead, it remains to be seen which remaining option they take.

In Germany BMW is closing factories and laying off workers because they can't compete with the Chinese EV's on price. So Ford may see that as an opportunity.
