Didn’t see this on any other threads but could be in the 3D printing realm.

Anybody have an idea how you are going mount the front plate for States that require them?

I know..drill holes… Easy. But does anybody have any other ideas?

It’s going to be a daily driver so “just don’t do it” doesn’t work. Already been through that with my current vehicle.

Illinois is getting close to ridding of it hopefully.

Undoubtedly they'll provide a way to do that because a front license plate is required in many places and they know that.

TIL there are states that don’t require front license plates. That’s nonsense.

Well you have no excuse not to do it; the mounting holes are right there.

Do you work for Flock? ;)
Lol, maybe I should. They could use my dashcam footage, I’ve got some plate numbers of red-light runners.

I mean license plates have been required long before Flock existed. Seems to me like common sense.

Flock Safety utilizes Vehicle Signature® and FreeForm™ AI technology to identify and categorize cars and vehicles without relying solely on standard license plates. The system detects missing, obscured, or temporary paper tags by cataloging specific vehicle attributes.

Vehicle Recognition Capabilities
    • Physical Attributes: Captures vehicle make, model, body type, and color.
    • Distinguishing Features: Logs specific details such as roof racks, toolboxes, bumper stickers, dents, and decals.
    • No-Plate Detections: Flags and indexes vehicles traveling without a valid plate to maintain searchable visual evidence for law enforcement.

Front plates haven't been required in UT (officially) since 2025. I haven't had a plate on my Mini far earlier than that, so it wasn't even enforced.

I suggested to the Slate rep at the Space Needle event last year that they needed to add accommodations for a front plate (required in WA).

I agree this is a great bumper picture. Do not remember these bolts being present at that time.

I was on team offset license plate mount via that tow screw, but with the Slate having the pre-molded holes for the plate in the center, I'm not sure if it'll look silly. Either way I'll still play around with it. If I can get an extra set of those bumper tow hole covers I'd def drill a hole in one for an offset mount.
