Looking at frame photos and it really sinks in. All panels are plastic bolt on. Including roof, A-B-C pillars, and door jambs.

Begs the question of what does the gasketing/sealant look like between all those panels/windsield/doors, etc. Especially removable back of the cab.

The Slate has plenty of opportunity to surpass the F150 as the most leak prone truck in America.

I have faith in their engineering but very curious.

That's certainly a valid concern. It may be less about preventing any water from getting in, than about preventing most water from getting in and making sure the rest has a desirable path out.

So Slate is taking inspiration from the Cybertruck manufacturing design? Looks like Cybertruck critics can't use that body panel falling off jab anymore.

Waterproofing has been on my list of concerns from the beginning. What is the integrity of the seals for the SUV kits and how many conversions before the seal bulbs begin to deteriorate? Wonder if Slate will offer a new seal as a standalone recommended replacement part. Also concerning is the seal at the middle partition or bulkhead which gets removed in a conversion. I hope they are considering a replacement seal kit to be available for both applications.

Ironically, nobody seems to be worried about the integrity and longevity of the door seals on their current cars. Same technology.

Cars that leak?

1) 1970's mini (UK, the van version) everything leaked, windows, doors, rear doors, . . .
good news? there was so much rust it just ran out.
2) 1985 Mitsu Gallant, sunroof leaked so bad I eventually took the !@#$ thing out, and caulked it back in permanently with silicone, and got rid of all the carpet.
3) 1992 Toyota Avalon, after a side impact on RHS it was fixed, but door leaked a little, and it was never as quiet
4) Chryser Sebring convertible, leaked like a sieve, but drained OK as long as you parked it nose-up on a slope. Goodness, I did like that car.
5) 2 minivans, Windstar and Grand-Caravan, both had hatchback leaks after 100k miles. Ford only went to 105 anyway. Chrysler lasted to just over 200k before camshaft went, no rust.

And now? I ride an Arcimoto, no leaks at all, it does not have doors!

Only cars I ever had with no leaks at all?
- 1960's VW beetle, yes, I really am that old!
- early 80's Isuzu Trooper. If I were stranded in Antarctica, this would be my truck.
But carry a spare distributor.
- 2018 Toyota Tacoma, despite multiple dents, both sides
