I replied SPECIFICALLY to Tyson's statement: "...but the cheapest Pickup Truck in general on the market, and the next cheapest Single Cab isn’t even close." My statement is accurate and material to the discussion.
The thread was about a review of the Slate. Which is an electric vehicle. My comments are even more accurate and more material to the discussion. Plus I don't live under a bridge, lol:)

It's a pickup truck.

Almost correct. It's an electric pickup truck. Which was a fundamental design decision. Which I for one appreciate.
No, it's still a pickup, regardless of propulsion system, which was my point of discussion. You may want an EV, yet others may want a pickup truck that can do pickup truck work, better than the Slate will.

This is reading like a Reese's peanut butter cup commercial.

Really - a small, bite-sized pickup mashed together with an electric motor. Add in the SUV package, and what does that become? 🤔

Edit: Should we call it the Slate Bar? 🍫

It becomes a small $32,000+ 2-door SUV with lots of compromises that doesn't compete well with the small/mid-size SUV market, be the competition is electric or ICE.

We get it, you hate it. Why do you stick around?
To answer questions from the ill-informed.

Edit...

To clarify, @Tom Sawyer is not not one who is ill-informed; he is quite the opposite. :)

I am so happy for you that you found a place to feed your self-perception of superiority.
Lol, no; its actually confirmed by others and well documented all over the internet.

You need to stop thinking about gotchas and start reading. You obviously missed the part of my post where I said:

"So, some people might want one of those, but a lot of people actually want a small 2 door electric pickup truck."

Who is thinking about "gotchas"? But okay, yeah, I didn't miss your point. But the Slate is still a pickup truck based on its primary design. Generally, a buyer is interested in a pickup truck architecture based on his perceived needs that he wants a large open cavity in the rear of the vehicle to carry odd-sized loads, heavy loads, grubby loads, granular loads (i.e. dirt, sand), etc. He may also want to, on occasion, tow a trailer or rental equipment, etc. For example, if he wants to repair a sidewalk, he may buy 16 bags of concrete from Home Depot and rent a concrete mixer from Sun Belt Rentals. A Slate may not suit his use case, but a Nissan Frontier would.

Now, if he is primarily just interested in owning a low-price EV, then the Chevy Bolt would be a legitimate consideration based on price, which will probably be within the same general price point as the Slate.

Some people may want the Slate just because its body is made out of plastic. That is partially my interest in it, among other attributes the Slate has.

Guess some of us have a different perspective. I’m only interested in the Slate because it is a small, 2 door EV truck. I have another friend the same, doesn’t want larger, 4 door, nor ICE. Two other friends recently got Siverados, again EV, didn’t consider ICE, another with a Tacoma, cancelled Lightning due to price increase, considers Slate would be perfect if towing was better.
