"est?"
I'm going to assume they actually mean Eastern DAYLIGHT Time.
They are a little distracted, eh? We had a user here insisting that the pre-order time was 9am, not 8am because of this confusion from Slate. I don't blame them because we've seen this a few times from Slate communication.

I live not far from here and would really love to see it. Howver it is in Manhattan and I am disabled and cannot walk far. Tolls, Congestion Pricing, and Parking. Plus having to walk makes it tough.

I just looked it up. Looks like the firehouse from Ghostbusters. But there is a parking garage next door. I may go. Anyone know if they let you sit in it?

Let's pretend that they mean it's an estimated timeframe, lol.

I went to the one last year at same location - it was pretty cool to see in person and the location was definitely "block party" vibe (street was closed off to pedestrians only). They were also serving coffee and ice cream (I missed the bagel day!)

I was debating whether to go this time (I already pre-ordered, so not a decision point), so I reached out to the Slate chat:
- They confirmed you will not be able to sit in it
- They were (unsurprisingly?) vague about details when I asked what will be different about this block party, annoyingly replying "You'll need to come to find out!"

I was on the fence on going, but now leaning towards not going as personally it won't be worth the long trip for me given the minimal amount of details around the event (though, if more details come out I reserve the right to change my mind) - I will wait for the test drives instead!

Adding some pictures of the last one in August 2025 for those that want to get a feel for the event:

The event web page has been updated and rebranded as the Slate x Crayola Block Party.

OK. I get it. Marketing.

But here's a disappointment for me. Stop already. We need more events out there with out marketing crap.

I’ll disagree. Most anything that draws attention and leads to success.
was pondering today today as I was driving home from Safeway, what might I do to foster some interest when I get mine?

Maybe this means they'll finally come to Buffalo to do a Slate X Worksport event, since those tonneau covers are made here.

I'm getting frustrated waiting for them to announce the 'summer tour' dates. It's already middle of the July and no information. I'm starting to get worried if they can't release a tour on time what this means for actual deliveries.

You and me both. Fresh to the forum I started a thread thinking "2 months, 20 cities" was new and people quickly reminded me it was from last year. WTF?

This subject came up today on reddit, and I'll copy a post from u/wbradford00 who is a frequent contributor. This user was at the NYC event and says:
The engineer I talked to today at the event said that soon they will be doing a tour of 20 cities in 20 states for sit ins and I believe he said test drives. He said this is contingent on them getting true production grade vehicles to parade around rather than the very few near-production vehicles they're bringing out now.

Thanks for the information. I'll try to be patient.
