What’s up? I’m a new member and just reserved my Slate.

Figured it would be a good way to preserve my Cybertruck while parked in dangerous areas and still have some semblance of truck capabilities.

As you are a Cybertruck owner, I'd like to say welcome and glad you have finally come to your senses. Just kidding! After you get your Slate, you'll have two vehicles at the extreme opposite ends of the practicality continuum.
Looking forward to it. Cybertruck tends to grab attention on the road (even today, halfway through 2025) and that’s not my intention. I just want to be left alone to do my own thing lol

I have a feeling the Slate will grab attention too, just for different reasons.

Very different reasons.

Cybertruck has become some kind of political statement and that’s the furthest thing from what I care about. Still love it, it’s awesome, but its polarizing look on the roads and in parking lots beats you down a little bit.

The Slate will just be a cool truck that will probably get some fans and some questions but only in a good way.

Very true. It is hard to look at a Cybertruck and not think about Elon and his ketamine-fueled rants. He’s a polarizing character.

Definitely.

He must know at this point that his activities on X impact all Tesla owners as well as the company itself. Yet he still speaks his mind. Nothing legally wrong with that, but c’mon, man…

I think the Cybertruck is cool. My wife thinks it is ugly. I want a small pickup, it really sucks that Tesla has not come out with one. All of the manufacturers really dropped the ball on this. A 1/2 ton or higher rated truck is overkill for most city dwellers.

A Cybertruck and a Slate will definitely be polar opposites in the driveway together!

I just demo did a demo drive of the Cybertruck for two days. I also love the truck (and the wife does not). I had a lot of comments and reactions from people just while driving. I've always said it was a polarizing vehicle and I can't justify getting one at this point.

I did end up ordering a Model Y though, but absolutely looking forward to a Slate and the simplicity that is needed in this market.

Nice! Those new Model Ys are prettyyyyyyy. Might bum me out seeing that and a Slate on my driveway and remembering the Y is rated to tow over 3X more than the Slate, but it is what it is lol

The new Y's are nice looking for sure. I'm sure it will be a while before I need to think about seeing a Y next to a Slate in the driveway.
