My ideal set up would be to use both my cell phone and a tablet at the same time. I do not want to pay two cellular bills, so I need a way to tether a tablet which I need for the bigger display for my older eyes. According to Katie at Slate there is no way to mount them both simultaneously. It is one or the other.

Lay the phone in the console and if your phone has hot spot capability connect the tablet to it that way. That is what I plan to do.

Mount the tablet, tether the data to your phone's hot spot, and keep your phone wherever. That will give your tablet the data it needs.

I plan on using my phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot for a tablet. I will just setup my tablet to connect automatically when my phones hotspot is on.

I'm not sure specifically how you intend to use both, but FWIW you can enable a hotspot on one and join that WiFi network with the other one.

I guess the phone stays in your pocket or laying flat in the console, and the tablet gets mounted to the T-rail. I like your idea!

As mentioned, use your hotspot. Tablet goes in the standard mount, phone goes on the vent just like a Slatelet. You can get a "vent clip" phone mount for $20 from Walmart or Best Buy.

No way *using Slate's accessories* to mount them both simultaneously. There's an open t-track for mounting whatver you want. Some personal inginuity, or a crafty Etsy seller, will give you lots of options.
