Question about the Norwood event. I see the event on Slates website but the description won't open for me to see more info.

Same for me. Guess it’s a “be there or be square “ invite 🤫

My bigger question...is there going to be a Slate truck at the event or is it about showing off ideas? I'm planning to check it out regardless. My wife is willing to wait for another event if they're not bringing a truck out.

I hope there is a truck there, but please take many photos of all the stuff these people are making if it's for the truck, which I assume is the point of the show.

Couple of prototypes and no one could sit in either. In fact one was closed up tight and you couldn’t even see in, if I’d known this event was a hipster gathering and not really for getting up to date information I wouldn’t have gone. We talked to several people dressed in Slate hats/shirts who knew next to nothing. Given they cancelled an outdoor event due to weather here a while back, we were hoping for more opportunity to learn fresh news. I’m not sure what the point was in this event unless it was to work the media before the public showed up.

I don't think any of these events are going to be good sources for finding out "up to date" or new information. The reps aren't going to be the engineers designing, and what they know is going to be the same stuff we know. When Slate decides to release new info, these reps will find out the same time we do, through updates on the site, or interviews.
If a rep knew something that wasn't officially released, they wouldn't be allowed to talk about it.

With all those light and decor setup the way they are, I hope Slate is offering free beer sourced from the local microbrewery. The whole vibe of all the "pop ups" scream levity and biergarten. It would fit perfectly with the octoberfest season.

I'm thinking this was all about getting the content creators listed to create something about the slate, not showing to the public. I'll be watching their work to see if any do anything.

Hal is correct. However I’m puzzled why Slate sent me an email invite since I’m just one of many who pre-ordered. I totally get the value potential influencer meet-up. But Slate had to know that a few of us with deposits would really want to sit in one, see the frunk opened, be able to ask questions or reconfirm what we have read or heard. I drove 150 miles round trip and all I took away is a feeling that Slate will miss delivering in 2016 with far too many details still “fluid” as one floor worker said. Hope I’m wrong ….
Slate should definitely let us know clearly on their posted Events dates what the event offers. Maybe they did on Instadog, Facebutt, or other social sites but as you can tell, I steer clear of these.

OK so I went and it was pretty great ! (Yes, there was free food and drinks). Slate is about bringing your creativity to the product. That's what this event was about, showcasing some ideas to inspire. They had a bunch of interactive stations. The trucks are still prototypes so they dont let people jump in, for good reason. Been to any auto shows? People damage the products day one. I spoke to several Slate members. Super friendly and happy to share what they know. I was told there is news coming out soon. How soon? Not sure. They couldn't say. Chris Barman was there and she got an air brush Slate tattoo! Heck yeah !
Thanks Slate.

damn, that green fastback Slate Truck looks fantastic. I don't plan to do a wrap, but if I were, I'd definitely do a similar shade.
