Slate Key Fob Reverse Engineered - 3D Print File (STL)

I'm currently 3d printing some "Cammy wrist gauntlets" for my daugher in-law's newest cosplay outfit and didn't feel like changing the filament to another color so here is a red fob.

Anyone have a good reason why the keyfob needs to be inserted into the dash? Is it just cost savings? I'm suddenly realizing that I can lock my keys in the car again rather than always have them clipped to my belt.

As @AZFox says, it’s more secure. Long-range RF is vulnerable to remote relay attacks.

Just do what I did on my older cars, and be sure to lock the doors using the fob and you won‘t lock it in the car.
