I was checking out Edmunds and I saw that they had this very helpful map that shows on a map how far from the center of your zip code the range of your vehicle will take you on a one way and round trip. I think having this functionality for Slates two options will be beneficial for people deciding between the two battery packs. A person might need less range than they think for their general commute and seeing that on a map and how far 150 miles can actually take you would be a big help for the base model. Or be a good way to show that the extended range model might be a better fit for their needs. What do you think?

I think I would like to have that for my Lightning and EV6.

That would make a great smartphone app that you could load your vehicle into.

This is amazing and I hope the Slate app has a function like this. But what I'm suggesting is a bit different this is a specific location and how to get there. Which is great but showing the range of how far you can get anywhere from the center of your zip code as a round trip or one way really captures your attention on far you 150 miles can really take you. You naturally start thinking about all the different possibilities and use cases you can use your vehicle on one charge or needing 1 30 minute fast charge just get back. Which if it's further than you imagined just increased the vehicles value in your mind.

With a better route planner it the best way to figure out how it will be to get to one exact location. Which if you need to charge more than once it can be a bit disappointing. This is a better tool as a road trip planner but the Slate Truck while can be used as a road trip vehicle it's not optimized for that especially with the standard range. It's more optimized as a grocery getter, commuter vehicle, or just around the town work truck.

Basically, I think this type of tool is probably better for when you actually own the truck and need to figure out how to get somewhere specific over a long distance. The tool I'm suggesting would arguably be better before the person purchases the vehicle especially when deciding between getting the standard range or extended range battery.

Just read where some vehicle apps can be paired with Apple Maps. Hope the Slate app does.

Sounds like a helpful tool. I'd suggest allowing the user to choose a point on a map instead of the range from the center of a zip code. Like I do searching Facebook marketplace for stuff i dont need. If this feature is for the purpose of deciding which battery pack is best suited for the buyer, it would not have to be super accurate. Some zip codes may be larger than the battery range.

I found by searching a site that does similar maps, but easier to customize some parameters, though you can't just type in a range, much easier to switch around existing vehicles and try to find one with similar range to slate.

Once slate puts out solid city and highway eMPG estimates, if that info is added to a site like this, you could get a real realistic view of your range.
