Slate Square Back Window Open /Close/Lock

I am planning to order a square back for my blank slate. Looking at the pictures published, there seems to be no latch for the window. My question is how this window opens and closes and locks. Also for the tailgate, do I need to purchase the lock kit or does it come standard with the square back kit?

If you know anything, please let me know.

On the Wrangler the window is held in by the tailgate which locks with the fob or button on the handle.
This would be the simplest and least expensive way for them to do it.

It appears that the window is held in by the tailgate, and the lock kit comes with the SUV kits.
Of course more details and confirmation should be there before you even get the chance to order.

According to all information currently,the SLATE truck does not have any sliding glass rear windows in design,nor electric or crank rear panel. As of this date,staying with the DIY simplicity, All the rear windows whether two or four seaters are Glass PANELS ( like the windshield). Each is the same as the other,and is replaceable as a single window unit,held the same,and replaced the same as the windshield.

Love that they minimize the number of parts, using same part left and right, etc. I'm curious if the side windows of the square back use the same window as the back window? I know the blank Slate back window moves to the back of the square back. I don't recall that factoid anywhere.

The fastback has a larger back window because it is slanted. I don't think I have ever seen pictures of the fastback with the back open. Maybe it will have a hatchback type back door/window with a large frame around the glass. For some reason it is $2,000 more than the squareback. The latest I have heard on the squareback, it doesn't use the rear window of the truck.

We had someone here on the forum reporting that a Slate rep told him that using the back of the truck cab window unit as the back of the square-back SUV unit was not working well. Problems with sealing? Unfortunately, that probably means that there will be no practical way to make the back window on the truck cab an opening and closing one.

Good eyes! I checked the pickup rendering and I don't see the heater lines on that one:

The easy answer to any "how do you turn that on and off" problem is "the 5-switch", but it would be news if every SUV kit included that add-on and dedicated 20% to rear defrost. I don't see a dead switch knockout near the controls for the frunk release, traction control, gauge brightness, and parking brake, which is where I'd have put it. Is there space for another button up on the rearview mirror by the hazards? Or maybe if it's not too power intensive they can just run it whenever you've got the defrost blowers on and a temp sensor indicates it might be necessary?
