The Telo folks are totally cool. Love their truck. Last time I checked, they had 10 employees, but two rolling prototypes. I'm hoping they're successful, because the Telo truck is awesome in its own way.

I think Telo will make it. They're targeting contract manufacturing in low volumes. I'm wagering they'll sell all they can build without even leaving California. The Telo will be "the latest thing" in the trendy coast.

not deep diving 30 posts into a thread to see a video that has benefit has been posted, I did a Quick Look to see if it was a main topic, it was not

it’s a forum, there can be posts inside a thread and a thread itself

your logic - no one should bring up AWD ever again because it’s in a post somewhere else, no one should bring up wraps…. Because it’s been talked about

I love how he said the Slate brought back memories of his Ford Ranger. I felt the same way when I saw that photo on the flatbed. That was when the Ranger had two doors, two seats and a livable ride height.

Me too. Old Ranger owner. I mean old as in last century - 4 cylinder, manual transmission, single cab. Crude vehicle, but cheap and functional. The Slate immediately made me think of that old Ranger. Also similar in performance terms (at least the single motor). I had to be a driver who thought two minutes ahead, because that's how long it took to accelerate on the highway :)

When I traded that Ranger for a Maverick, it was love-hate. I hated the four doors and 200" long part. I loved the 250HP part. That's why, even though a single motor, small battery Slate works for my life, it's gonna be a dual motor, big battery or nothing.

The search box is your friend.

Seriously?

No, my logic is avoid to re-posting YouTube videos over and over on the forum, because that will improve the quality of the content here.

That way all comments about the video a video will be in one place.

There's another reason: netiquette. @motorolas already took the time and effort to find the video, post it, and comment about it yesterday. Credit should be given where credit is due.

Like I wrote in Post #2, just message @Administrator if you think a video should have its own thread.

That depends on what you mean by "similar in performance terms".

The Ranger is an ICEV with 119 hp.
The Slate Truck is an EV with 201 hp.

That's a lot of advantage, especially from a stop because the EV has boatloads of torque from the get-go and the ICEV needs time to gather up its grrr.

Yea, you are correct on that. I thought the Slate was slower than it is.

The released 0-60 specs on the Slate is 8 seconds with the single motor and small battery. That's in average SUV range. And as you say, BEV torque is always awesome . Compared by my 6 second Maverick it's a bit slow. But compared to my old 4 cylinder Rangers it's a greyhound. And the AWD Slate with the large battery - I'll bet that will be faster.

My 2010 Ranger 4 cyl had 143 HP. It did 0-60 about as fast as an ice age: 10.5 seconds. It reminded me of my ancient 1960s era VW Bus.
