Although I agree, it will likely have access to the Tesla network, NACS is quickly being deployed for the original CCS networks as well. Ionna for example is fitting both to there Charger cabinets as they ramp up.

Gaining access to the Tesla SC requires more than a compatible NACS connector. It also requires Tesla software allowing your vehicle to charge. Unlike the CCS networks only require a compatible connection or adapter.

All you need is the Tesla app to charge on compatible Tesla superchargers. In fact, with Ford, its just plug and charge, if you have it set up in the Ford Pass app.

Yes, I know. I drive an F150 Lightning. Ford has developed Plug and Charge with a whole host of Networks.

We can charge with our without the App., but require an adapter for non-magic dock V3 or V4 chargers.

Any EV can charge on Tesla SC that is equipped with the magic dock, by the way. But we will need Tesla to add the Slate to the other non magic dock chargers in order to charge there.

Walmart has an aggressive plan to have EV chargers installed at most of Walmart and Sam's locations by 2030. They say that 90% of the population lives within 10 miles of a Walmart. This will go a long way in legitimizing EV's for the general population.

Hopefully this admin and the Republicans won't try to make those "woke" EVs illegal by then. They are already trying to take the financial advantage of EVs away by proposing a national $250 EV registration fee on top of many red states high EV registration fees. They're also chomping at the bit to kill the $7500 tax credit

So I hear. I understand the added state and federal taxes on EV's since they don't pay the gas tax which is supposed to maintain the roads. Lots of things to factor in. Not sure how the $7500 credit will work out but if that goes away I can see this becoming a $30k truck. Turning it into an SUV maybe $40k and Slate looses any advantage it has and EV sales continue to decline. If this ends up costing the same as a Maverick then Slate looses and hopefully we'll get our $50 back.

Many people have figured out you would have to drive at least 25,000 miles in a year to breakeven on that.

We have a $120.00 add on fee here in KY for EV’s. I’m not opposed to paying my FAIR SHARE of road usage tax, but that is a flat fee which reflects about a 12,000 mi. per year. I average more like 7,000. 😔

In Texas, it's $400 the first year, and $200 a year after that, and that's on top of the $73 yearly registration fee

How would that compare and workout as it relates to the gas taxes in TX?

But some people drive 20,000 per year. Some states let you opt in to a mileage monitoring plan.

@E90400K

Well KY sure isn’t one of those.

It seems easy enough to do an odometer reading to allow for true use case. But what do I know?
