Do we need a thread to document changes to the Maker (pricing updates, new features, etc.)?

We know the Wrap tool now has a Collabs option (Crayola and Max Kolo).

Additionally, I just noticed that my Slate Grey options for the Door Bolster Insert, Door Armrest and Dash Panels are now standard. That's a savings of $174.97.

Maybe it was a glitch to begin with and now it's fixed.

Anyway, those options are now gone from my Summary. 😄

Edit: I think it's glitching. Now Slate Grey is adding back as a cost option. It's going to take a while before this all settles down! 😆

I have kept one of my first builds in the maker unaltered with the now unavailable power window option for that thread of nostalgia and just in case it comes back.

Unknowingly, I was able to have a different color on the square back top compared to the other truck panels before the update. I wish they would add this option separately and not have to overpay (3rd party job) nor create spare, unused wrap.

Or offer a 2 or 3 tone option for the basic $500 + maybe 50 or 100 per added color.
I am sure they have thought of that. Likely something they will offer after they get all of this up and running.
Something released later to keep the interest alive.

I noticed it was possible to get a full wrap and partial wraps with it in ways that were redundant and covered things that were still selected and part of the price summary. Hopefully they add a warning for that, at least.

The current config of the maker makes the wraps quite a bit more expensive if you want 2 or 3 tones in your color scheme.
It is $749.97 to have a 3 tone like I have in my profile pic. Not the end of the world but I think allowing what I mentioned above would save us some money without overly complicating things for them.
In Slate terms Simplify the multi color process.

I suppose it's worth noting that the Maker now has an option for Studio lighting (white room, whiteish tile floor).

It really changes the color of the wrap. It caught me by surprise. I thought it wasn't loading the correct color wrap at first! 😆

I'll see if I can make my change log viewable on my accessory tracker. I'll also try to add wraps back. I see they are trying to make a Key Fob & Slatelet to go with the Crayola Collab.

Added Filters for (All, New, Recently Updated, Not For Sale). I also added a Recent Changes section if you view Details. I'll try to clean it up a little bit.

I"ve already got slateafter.com tracked in my visualping.io dashboard - it's easier to interpret the changes than on Slate's site! Thanks for the work you're putting into that tool.

Saw some updates to the FAQ today - here's a comparison, new on the left and old on the right:

Slate Auto Pickup Truck Updates to the Maker. 2026-07-09 15_58_34-WinMerge - [Untitled Left - Untitled Right]

They mentioned professional installation at $500 in a couple of video reviews from the June event, now it's in writing! Unfortunately, they also said the same and confirmed the same about compatibility issues with wrap adhesives. Bummer! Might try it anyways with some sample pieces and a propane burner and/or chemical adhesion promoter spray.

They also clarified the difference between select accessories and non-select accessories, and added that non-select accessories can be installed by a RepairPal before delivery. Seems a bit silly to have your car shipped from Slate to Carvana (or whoever) to get your lift kit installed, and then shipped from Carvana to your local RepairPal mechanic to get your light kit installed because Carvana won't, and then shipped to you - but that's logistics.

Elsewhere in the FAQ, they clarified not once but five times that your $300 preorder counts towards the final purchase price. It’s not refundable, but it will be counted toward the final purchase price of your Slate. The $300 preorder deposit counts toward the final purchase price. A preorder is a $300 ($250 with an active reservation) non-refundable deposit that ... counts toward your purchase of a Slate. Your $300 preorder counts toward the final purchase price. Apparently Slate felt that needed to be emphasized, so I repeated it too!
