on a video I was watching the person went into the menu of the dash, there was a diagnostics menu, do you suppose that is just for the powertrain or everything?

do you think it has an obd2 port for air bags, abs, camera system, instrument cluster ect?

hopefully wont ever need it up being a former technician it would be nice to not need special diagnostics to read it

My hope is that the CAN codes are well documented or some other API into the control units is supported. Really hoping the electronic systems are as open source and DIY as the body parts.

In past responses, Slate has said that diagnostic fault codes (and descriptions) can be viewed in the phone/tablet app. There will certainly be an OBD2 port (mandated) and hopefully Slate will have open documentation for their PIDs. Many EVs have a wide range of power system status/diagnostics available via the OBD2 port.
