I love Slate- I hate these videos. What are they trying to prove?

You could make the same video with any car sold today.

I have to agree that video is a bit lame. And if you opt for the storage console you’re going to need to check those bags in the frunk. Generally I hate clutter in between the seats, and in an accident they become projectiles. A bench seat would be a better use of that space.

Hit the brakes hard and now you have junk under your feet. Frankly seems dumb!

Id opt for a center console in any case, so I’m just yelling at clouds

I’ll take any video that Slate puts out, keep the hype, we’re in for a long 14-18+ months

It seems almost everyone now has such a short attention span, have to keep pumping out attention grabbers
I guessing there maybe some scrambling how to overcome loss of the EV credit.

im sure that they have been thinking about that for a while, its been a high probability since before Slate announced

probably a big reason for simplifying production (less parts to put together), multi position parts (armrests)

Always wanted an erector set as a kid.
They could sell it like the old jeeps, in a big box, a lot of assembly required LOL

high voltage everything all hooked up, and the buyer assembles the rest

they could even leave out that one bolt that’s alway missing on an assemble yourself project

Women may need that space between the seats for a purse more than guys will. That said, if the console accessory is large enough, that might be a good place to stash a bag AND keep the drink holders.

Yup, I would opt for a traditional console (like I have in my current car) over a bench seat, but I do agree with @cadblu regarding clutter up front like that. Speaking from my own observations within my household, it's not the console that causes clutter to accumulate, it's the person. (No, Honey. I'm not complaining to strangers about all the trash and clutter on the seat of your car when we take it for a drive.) 🤫

I would jump at the chaance to assemble my own, deliver it in a crate, it would probably cost more to have them package it like that though.
