Now that you live as far from Maine as possible without leaving the USA, are your "swap tires" for the lava flows?

:CWL:
Lava can be very very tough on tires. Especially, aa.

Kind of bummed we won't get the university sooner but I honestly didn't expect it till after people started receiving them so the whole "in production" does give the chance it might come out before the first truck ships.
This is probably one of those 'chicken / egg' situations. They need the 'finished' off the line production Slates for whatever hands-on videos or photos with the finalized parts they want to do for their instructions. Either that or the final product CAD files aren't finished yet. Either way it'd probably be better to have both ready (although I do remember them telling us at some point they'd have the documentation out there for us before the trucks were available for sale).

There's a Honda dealer that did excellent how-to's for tons of accessories, I used one for installing an OEM console armrest that didn't ship with instructions from the factory.

Yeah I was under the impression the CAD files would be apart of the university so I was hoping it would be out sooner than just before first deliveries.

How would you know what all to include if you dont' have finished spec vehicles now?

Sorry I was to vague, I meant I was hopping it would launch as soon as they have finalized parts but before scaled production starts. Hopefully it will launch when they start offering test drives.

I don’t expect SU to be an all encompassing rollout, more of here are the basics and add to it as things develop

It is supposed to have scans, and that would be helpful for people to start making things before launch so they have stock ready to sell, or so the early adopters to be able to customize right off the bat easier. Both things they have talked about several times. But yeah I don't expect a full teardown right off the bat either.

I expect that even now, if someone already making and selling auto accessories even at a small scale contacts Slate, on at least some areas Slate will provide them with specs so they can design parts. They probably have a bunch of companies with NDAs who've already made at least preliminary designs.
