So far it looks like 30% of us are Gen X who miss the compact single cab trucks we grew up around.

GenX well represented. It is definitely pushing a button for that age cohort. I'm a year or two away from GenX, and identify more with GenX things than Boomers. To me, Boomers are all about Elvis, flowers in their hair, and dodging the draft. As a 63 baby, I gladly missed out on the draft. Instead, I suffered GenX things like having pensions yanked away and all that kind of good stuff. But I digress...

BTW: for those in the roughly 1956 to 1964 group, consider yourself "Generation Jones." The Boomer tag is too broad, but sociologists refuse to change it because of their fixation on a birth graph instead of a shared experience. Like "Xennials," many of us just like to socialize the term so people out there are aware of it.

Great idea. Is there a Slate discord chat going on we are missing out on? Wonder what topics and opinions are playing out in other social media outlets. My Bday is in my delivery window so I might be 54, might be 55. I love interacting with my kids, their friends, and younger coworkers. Soaking up and learning from THEIR perspective. The world has changed and will continue changing. Teach AND learn.

So true! Getting total vibes when I had my 1990 Nissan Hardbody Pickup (standard cab). Even the steering wheel is almost the same and calling me. 😂

Lol, my first vehicle was a powder pink hand me down 1992 Suzuki carry truck. Loved that little thing and nowadays nothing in my personal opinion fits that small truck vibe and simple utility factor besides the Slate or Kei trucks.

I'm 38, so I caught the tail end of automotive forums when I was younger. I watched them all become ghost towns as people moved over to social media, which never really worked as a replacement for the source of knowledge that forums used to be.
I'm not surprised to see the dropoff under 35 here.

Forums are still the best in terms of their usefulness and retention of information (as long as people can figure out how to use the search function!).

As a Millennial, it looks like you’re saying “No Slate”

By comparison, the Millennial Slatelet would have a nice big “Y” across the middle, or else, like StromSpeed suggested, we would look like the start of a calculus problem. As a millennial, I would identify more with the old Windows logo as a slatelet.
What would be a good icon of Gen X? The MTV logo? That album cover of The Buggles?
