So instead of the basic idea of a no frills truck you want to add unnecessary gizmos.
It’s a federal law to have the camera lol. If you’re going to have a backup camera, it makes more sense to have it in the mirror then the gauge display.
Not many gauge displays get damaged in the supermarket parking lot though.
How is your rear view mirror getting damaged in a super market parking lot? Are you flailing around? In all the cars I’ve ever owned I’ve never had an issue with a rear view mirror.
You were talking about having tv monitors as part of door mirrors, or maybe I'm confused.

I think it will be very interesting to see how they do this because I don't see how they will fit a usable backup camera display in the gauge cluster without taking away all the information that needs displayed like the speed, state of charge or specifically any icons.
Why would you need any of that stuff while you’re backing up though? I mean it’s a video display. They can just remove all those things to show the backup camera and then put them all back on when you’re going forward.
That's a fair point and I personally can't think of any, I just prefer any warning icons to not move or be covered. Although, looking at some of the dash screens we have seen, this won't be a problem. But I could also see the wheel blocking the backup camera being inconvenient.
