Guessing if Slate is monitoring this forum they may have reached the point of being entertained as we may have beaten the poor subject to death based on what little we know.

Maybe it’s time for Slate to provide an official update, giving us fresh fodder? Actually, I’m hopeful that Slate adds an update section to their website that posts news regularly.

Nothing Fun
What topics wouldn’t you want an update on???
I mean, I'd love em all, don't get me wrong. But the biggest elephant in the room is price, and price of accessories, and I don't expect any update on those until at least a few months post-tax credit, if not mid-next year. I don't have any big looming questions, so I was curious what you had!

I’d like updates on
  1. Front bench seat announcement which they got the idea for from this forum.
  2. More details/specs on the battery pack. Gross/net/usable. Expected efficiency. 2.8 or 3.2 m/kWh
  3. Back of the cab glass(hinged or fixed)
But if they have been monitoring this forum at all then probably the most popular discrepancy to clear up is to whether mid-twenties means around $25k or $27,499.

With all the uncertainty around tariffs, interest rates, state incentives, etc, why would Slate box themselves in with a pricing announcement a year+ out? I bet they'll push that off until right before it's time for us to place orders.

The main competition is used vehicles.

Used car prices could change a lot by the time the Truck starts shipping.

I'm going to put it out there that the base model be priced at $23,499, and the extended battery be priced at $26,499. And please make the SUV+seats and Fastback+seats at $3,499.
That would be ~$26,998 for the base with SUV, and ~$29,998.
Still fits the “Mid $20s” and keeps even the price under $30k.

Sorry, not to be snootty. The big questions indeed, and no reason to suspect that they will not come in time. Then again there are many many little things, some worthy of some discussion, some not. Progress at the factory, feedback from the public showings, up coming events, hints as to distribution, financing, accessories being considered, feedback to any post here. Probably no item too small to escape scrutiny here. Maybe reach to reach out to gather our opinions.

Sorry, but your guesses as to prices isn’t based on update any from Slate, simply a regurgitation of numbers likely in a dozen places on this forum. Minimal value at best.

Exactly. If Slates reading. Go the lowest value as best. Haven’t read many wanting $23k. Most guesses are $25k-27.5k-$30k.

150 miles on 52.7 kWh is 2.846 miles per kWh.

Slate said they would sell a blank Slate for just under $20,000 with the federal EV tax credit of up to $7,500. That makes the current Slate price just under $27,500.

Yup. And 150 miles on 47 kWh net is 3.2 miles per kWh.
Good catch!

3.2-2.85=0.35 kWh in lost efficiency by hauling the extra weight of the extended battery everywhere you go. Could that be right?

Edit:" What does that translate to in dollars-per-mile?" would be the question for determining cost-of-ownership of the bigger battery.

Quick visit to AI calculated 0.07 per mile for 0.35kwh. Could that be right? Seems high, because 15,000 mile per year comes to $1,050 (.07 x 15000) in extra power cost for one year of having the Extended option.
