I'm going to need to see this truck and test drive it before I place an order.

I personally have driven almost all manner of land vehicle and am getting this no matter what XD
Seriously. "Does it move? Can it do reasonable speeds? Great, sign me up." I'm not sure what a 5 minute test drive is going to show people about a bare bones EV.
Oh well.

There's subtle things that you really can't tell until being behind the wheel of a car and driving it. My concerns aren't really EV related. I know they are pre-production prototypes but it would have been nice if I were allowed to sit in one of the Ft. Worth vehicles just to get an idea of the reach/egress ergonomics of the vehicle. I've been in some cars where, in order to get the right seating position for my build, some needed things are no longer within arms reach.

Edit: I love my Element but there's no seating position for my height that allows me to see the top of the speedometer. Stuff like that. Steering wheel won't tilt high enough. Driving it looks like the below image. That's something you'll only learn from a test drive.

Slate Auto Pickup Truck Pre-orders starting in June! See OFFICIAL confirmation from Slate Auto 1000048230

Was it a deal breaker for me? No, but it did factor into my buying decision when weighing it against another SUV.

That's been my concern as well. At 6'7" I've been driving VW TDI diesels (coup and sportwagons) as they are one of the few designs that are actually comfortable for all day driving. If possible, could you mention your height? I asked, but never received a reply....

I'm a little over 6'ft but seem to have it more in the legs than anything which puts my seat further back. Non telescoping wheels like in my Geo pretty much mean I'm straight-arming it when driving. The Element seat sits upright like a truck but the wheel doesn't tilt nearly as far upwards as needed.

I hadn't realized, did telescoping wheels get a lot less common in recent years? I haven't seen one in a while. I could actually use one, I'm 6-1 and have a similar issue, arm fatigue is one of the first things I'm feeling driving a distance.

Seems to vary by make, but for Hondas of my era they actually make aftermarket extenders since they don't move. My 2011 Fit does come out a little bit, at least.
